GOD
- We believe there is one God and that He is the God revealed in the Bible (Deut. 6:4)
- We believe Jesus is the son of God and that he was God in the flesh (2 Pet. 1:1, Rom. 9:5, John 14:9, Isa. 9:6-7, John 1:1, John 1:14)
- We believe in the redemptive and active working of God’s Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:1-27)
SALVATION
- We believe Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of the sins of the world (1 Cor. 15:1-8)
- We believe that we are saved by the grace of God, not by our works, and that we are created to do good works in Christ (Eph. 2:1-10)
- We believe that God has given us a plan of salvation:
- Believe in Jesus (Gal. 3:26-27, Mark 16:15-16)
- Repent of our sins (Luke 13:3-5, Acts 2:37-38)
- Turn completely away from all evil in our life (2 Cor. 7:10-11)
- Turn completely to God, die to our old way of life and totally commit our life to God and Jesus (Luke 14:33, Matt. 13:44-46, Col. 3:3, 2 Cor. 5:14-17)
- Be baptized for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:37-38)
- Full immersion in water (Rom. 6:1-5, John 3:23, Acts 8:38)
- Baptism is the point of salvation (Mark 16:15-16, Acts 22:16, 1 Pet. 3:18-21)
- Live a faithful, growing Christian life until we go home to God or Christ returns. (John 15:1-8, Heb. 10:36)
THE CHURCH
We believe the purpose of the church is to glorify God in this world by:
- Honoring God with holiness (Eph. 5:25-27, Heb. 12:14)
- Bringing lost souls the gospel of God (Matt. 28:18-20, Luke 19:10)
- Having deep, one-another relationships (1 Pet. 1:22, 1 Cor. 13:1-10, Eph. 4:14-15)
- Serving the poor and needy in and out of the church (Gal. 2:9-10, Matt. 23:11)
STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
GOD: FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in and surrender our lives to the one God who made the heavens and earth and who breathed life into humanity. We worship and praise the Father who spoke the world into existence, Jesus, the Son, who died upon the cross to redeem us from sin, and the Holy Spirit who is the seal of our salvation.
- Our eternal purpose is to know God and to glorify him as God, and let our life shine so others will see God. Our devotion and ultimate loyalties are to the Father, who is over all and in all and through all; to Jesus the Son, who has been declared both Lord and Christ; and to the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and empowers us to overcome the workings of the sinful nature (Acts 2:22-36, Romans 8:12-28).
- The cornerstone of our faith is our belief in Jesus Christ. Everything we hold dear in our faith originates from his words and his way of life (John 3:16, John 12:47-48, 1 John 2:5-6).The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is sharp, powerful, effective, challenging, exposing, and encouraging when it is revered, studied, preached, taught, and obeyed because it is from our Creator and therefore relevant for all generations. (1 Timothy 4:13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 4:1-5, Hebrews 4:12-13)
